Our family has been breeding Traditional Siamese cats for nearly thirty years and two generations, and we are proud to have selected our breeding stock for their intelligence, loving and calm temperaments, robust health and beauty.
Recently, we've begun to breed the silky-haired 'cousins' to Traditional Siamese, the Traditional Balinese which, in our opinion, is the only breed to rival the Traditional Siamese for being the finest of all companion cats. (For more information on Traditional Balinese history and traits see Traditional Balinese History, Temperament and Characteristics).
Traditional Balinese cats and kittens are not only loving and playful, but extremely intelligent, being ranked most intelligent among all longer-haired cats while their silky non-matting coats shed minimally, the least of all medium-haired cats.
This makes the Traditional Balinese ideal for people who love the outgoing intelligence and the cuddly robust body type of the Traditional Siamese and also love the silky touch of longer fur. Traditional Balinese are much like a Traditional Siamese wrapped in silk. To see a Balinese is to want to touch it, to pick it up, to hold it to your cheek.
We have found the Traditional Balinese irresistible and people who visit us agree that the Balinese combines the very best traits of both long and short-haired cats.
Our Balinese cats are family members, loose in our house with us. We raise very high quality Old Fashion Balinese. Our kittens are hand raised friendly and affectionate companions, unafraid of children or the activity of a household. Their personalities range from lap cats to clowns. Our goal is to match you with the kitten that suits you best.
Our kittens my go to their new homes beginning at 10 weeks old. We feel that 10 to 14 weeks is the optimum time for a kitten to bond to their new people.
No destructive, neurotic or cross-eyed cats are ever used for breeding, and these traits do not appear in our cats.
Show Record. At this time, Traditional Balinese are shown only in cat shows that recognize the traditional Balinese such as the 'Traditional and Classic Cat International' (TCCI). Cosset, one of our queens, was 1997 Best Traditional Balinese. In 1998 one of our Balinese kittens received the prestigious 'Morris Award' as Best Kitten In Show. In the 1999 show, one of our kittens was again Best Kitten in Show and the father was Best Traditional Balinese and Best Traditional Seal Point Balinese. In the most recent 2002 International competition one of our cats was Best Cat In Show and our kittens placed second and third Best Kitten In Show as well as many other first places.
We are proud to say that historically our cats and kittens take many first prizes in various classes including Best Seal Point, Best Chocolate Point, and several of our kittens usually place in the top five.
Our Balinese kittens and cats will be featured in a video entitled "Kittens and Stuff," released in 2001.
